Doron Birger: Chairman, director and advisor for a number of technology companies. Doron previously served as president and CEO of Elron Electronic Industries (Nasdaq ELRNF, TASE); and chairman and director of Given Imaging (NASDAQ GIVN) until the company was sold to Medtronic. He is currently a board member at IceCure (TASE), Heramed (ASX) and Citrin Global (OTC) and chairman of the medical device companies Sight Diagnostic, Onsight, Nurami and directors in few other technology companies. Doron also serves as chairman and director for a number of non-profit organizations.
Avraham Asheri has served as an economic advisor and a director of several traded companies since 1998. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Elron Electronic Industries, Discount Mortgage Bank, Africa Israel Investments, Koor Industries, Elbit Systems and Micronet. Mr. Asheri was President and Chief Executive Officer of Israel Discount Bank from 1991 until 1998, and Executive Vice-President and member of its management committee from 1983 until 1991. Prior to that, he served for 23 years at the Israel Ministry of Industry and Trade and at Ministry of Finance as Director General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Managing Director of the Israel Investment Center, and Trade Commissioner of Israel to the United States. Mr. Asheri holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Hebrew University. Mr. Asheri acts as Chairman of the Finance and Budget Committee of the Board of Governors of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, member of the Executive Committee of the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies, member of the Executive Committee of Hadassah Academic College and Chairman of its Finance Committee, and member of the General Assembly of the Jerusalem Foundation.
Dani Goffer is married with three children. Dan is a Certified Public Accountant and senior partner in an accounting firm in Tel Aviv. He spent three decades as a Reserve Officer Accountant in the IDF. Dan has decades of experience accounting, auditing, corporate law, corporate and individual taxation (including international taxation), computer systems, valuations, liquidation and receivership, mediation, directors course, training accountants as arbitrators, etc.
Oded Birger is married with four children and lives in Beit Hakerem, the same neighborhood in Jerusalem where he grew up. Oded Birger is the Deputy General Manager at the Israel Broadcasting Authority. Before IBA, Oded served as the CEO and Vice President of several communications companies, including CEO of Telcom 365, Director at Cellcom, Vice President of Pelephone, Vice President of Tevel Telcom and CEO of B-On business development. Oded Birger is the son of DVI Founders Trudi and Zev Birger.
Gil Birger, CEO of Birger Holdings, is an entrepreneur and manager with extensive international business experience. He was a Managing Partner in Rabin, Sheves, Lipkin-Shahak & Birger Inc, a consulting firm based in Washington DC. Previously, he served as the Economic & Trade Officer for the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, where he was responsible for creating economic opportunities for U.S. companies in Israel and for Israeli companies in the U.S. During his career, Mr. Birger has consulted for dozens of emerging companies on business strategy and capital formation. He has developed hedge and foreign currency management strategies for more than thirty large companies, he has managed private portfolios, and he has lectured on the minimization of corporate, economic and financial risk in portfolios. Mr. Birger is a veteran of Israeli Air Force Intelligence, and he holds an MBA in finance and international business from the University of Hartford, Connecticut, Graduate at the Technion, Israel, Faculty of Industrial Engineering. Gil Birger is the son of DVI Founders Trudi and Zev Birger.
Kobi Kahlon is married with three children. Mr. Kachlon is the past Deputy Mayor of the City of Jerusalem, having served under Mayor Nir Barkat. Mr. Kachlon served as Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and Chairman of the Planning and Building Committee from 2008-2015. He holds a master’s degree in law and a master’s degree in business administration.
After 30 years as the CEO and owner of Tuttnauer LTD, one of the largest medical companies in the field of sterilization in the world, Mr. Tuttnauer sold it and, in 2017 established a new company – R.T Consulting & Investment. The company specializes in capital investments and consulting. R.T. is a co-partner of many companies in the fields of manufacturing, real estate, venture capital funding, and startups. In addition, Mr. Tuttnauer is an advisor in the segment of International Marketing, Sales, and Management. Ran is also serving as Chairman of the Industrialists’ Council at the Manufacturer’s Association of Israel.
Prof. Avraham Zini was elected the new Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Hebrew University at Hadassah in 2021. Prof. Zini received a DMD in 1989 with a specialization in Public Health Dentistry, Masters of Public Health in 2006 and PhD in 2011, all awarded from Hebrew University. “The value of the Hebrew term “Tikun Olam” which literally means, “repairing the world” is an integral part of our teaching method and we hope this value is passed on to the next generation of our Faculty future dental graduates.” From 2000-2008 he was the director of the Yad Sarah geriatric dental clinic which focuses on the oral health needs of geriatric communities. From 2016 – 2019, Prof. Zini headed the Faculty’s Community Dentistry Department. From 2015 – 2021, Prof. Zini was the Associate Dean of the Faculty. During his term, he headed the Faculty’s current accreditation process (CODA) an international dental education program with certification from the American Dental Association. Prof. Zini is also a researcher and lecturer, has published 145 peer review articles, and is an editorial board member in many well-known journals. By emphasizing research, Prof. Zini raises the awareness of the oral health dimension and the importance of its treatment among needy populations as well as among policy-makers and to bring about an improvement in the quality of life of the population.
