At the AAPD, May 22-26, DVI manned it’s booth, and dentists came by in large numbers to talk to Michelle Levin and Dr. Roy Petel. It was heartwarming to see so many come by and let us know that they were interested in coming to our clinic in Jerusalem to volunteer. Dr. Petel gave a lecture “DVI – High Class Comprehensive Dental Care in a Community Dental Clinic” which was attended by a few hundred dentists.
One of our DVI veteran volunteers – Dr. Sheldon Bernick, was honored at the Gala Dinner by receiving the Manuel M. Album Award, an award which recognizes outstanding care for children with special needs. “Sheldon Bernick, D.D.S., a volunteer dentist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) for the past 15 years, received The Manuel M. Album Award at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry today in Orlando, Florida. This award recognizes a dentist for outstanding achievements in caring for children with special needs. Dr. Bernick, who practices in Broomall, Pa., works at CHOP once a week as the consulting pediatric dentist on the Hospital’s Cleft Palate and Craniofacial team.”
